That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas…”

***this is just an excerpt from an english paper i made about Vincent Van Gogh***
**just felt like sharing it** :)
It has been more than 115 years since Van Gogh passed away. His failures during his time have become marvels to the modern world. Many people, art enthusiasts and critics of the like still buzz about the way he lived his life and the way he expressed his ideas, feelings, and visions through brush strokes and paint. But does the priority lie in the painting or in the painter? When we look at a work of art, do we judge its looks before or after knowledge of who created it? If art is defined as an expression, of what is beautiful—much like the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”—who’s to say that his works are works of a genius or a madman? Vincent Van Gogh will forever be an enigma to the world, just like how art itself should be.
